CO Architects Promotes 10 Team Members for Outstanding Design Talent and Dedication
Associate Principal, Senior Associates, and Associates Elevated From Within
LOS ANGELES: CO Architects, a leader in designing creative, sustainable, and exemplary solutions for healthcare, education, and research facilities, advances Michael Stebbins, AIA, to Associate Principal; and Lauren Coles, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Carolina Ziebell to Senior Associate. In addition, CO Architects has named seven new Associates.

Michael Stebbins, AIA, has been promoted from Senior Associate to Associate Principal. He joined CO Architects in 2015 and has more than 25 years of experience in the United States and abroad designing assembly spaces, including churches, museums, and performing arts centers. At the firm, he’s worked on complex education and civic projects. These include North Hollywood High School and Ascot Avenue Elementary School in Los Angeles, as well as the Indio Juvenile and Family Court House. Michael brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to managing diverse teams on innovative projects. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University in Ames in 1988 and a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles in 1996.
Lauren Coles, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted from Associate to Senior Associate. She joined the firm in 2015 and brings more than 10 years of design and project management expertise. A leader in higher education and healthcare projects, Lauren’s work includes Scripps Mercy Replacement Hospital and the Health Innovation Center at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights. Lauren works collaboratively with clients, providing detailed coordination and design excellence. She received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Northeastern University in Boston in 2005.
Carolina Ziebell has been promoted from Senior Medical Planner to Senior Associate. She joined CO Architects in 2018 with 10 years of medical planning experience. At the firm, she blends medical planning with architecture and interior design to create solutions that are both functional and beautiful. She has planned a variety of renovated and new medical projects, ranging from inpatient hospital towers to outpatient facilities, urgent care clinics, medical office buildings, and behavioral health facilities. Her most recent project is the Scripps Mercy Replacement Hospital. Carolina received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Universidad Nacional, Bogotá, Colombia, in 2003 and a Master of Architecture from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 2009. She is also a licensed architect in Colombia.
In addition to the promotions noted above, CO Architects has advanced seven team members to Associate: Seth Bernard; Alex Garcia, AIA, LEED GA; Heather Heise, Specifications Writer; Rucha Karnik, AIA; Lois Lee; Alison Martin, AIA; and Erin Zukowski, Office Manager.
