SAN FRANCISCO: Form4 Architecture is pleased to announce that award-winning interior designer Sherry Carroll, LEED AP, EDAC, Assoc. IIDA, has joined the San Francisco-based firm as its first Workplace Design Strategist.  In this new position, Carroll will help expand Form4 Architecture’s interior design capabilities and advance its forward-thinking work for Silicon Valley businesses, which include Netflix, Citrix, VM Ware, Google, and Facebook, among other prominent digital companies.

“Sherry’s focus on innovative, sustainable design solutions, quality delivery, and customer experience has earned her respect from clients and the profession alike,” says John Marx, AIA, Principal of Form4 Architecture, of her work for Apple, LinkedIn, Adobe, Accenture, and CBRE, among others.  “We have worked together on projects in the past, and I look forward to continuing that productive collaboration within our firm.”

Carroll joins Form4 Architecture after serving as Associate Vice President of HGA Architects and Engineers in San Jose, CA, since 1999.  In that role, she led multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative approaches to workplace designs for corporate clients.  Carroll also worked for ReelGrobman in San Jose on management, business development, and design for many technology, service, real estate, and healthcare companies.  She developed her interior design expertise during the 1990s at DES Architects and Engineers in Redwood City and at AP+I in Santa Clara, both in Northern California.

Carroll’s approach to interior design is driven by a commitment to environmental sustainability and wellness.  “I am devoted to improving architectural interiors to have the least impact on our climate, while still offering enduring function and inspiring aesthetics,” says the designer.  In addition to green design, her interiors expertise extends to acoustics, ergonomics, and lighting.

Carroll is certified by the US Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and by the Center for Health Design in evidence-based design accreditation and certification (EDAC).  In addition, she is a member of CoreNet Global, Center for the Built Environment at UC Berkeley, and California State Parks Foundation.

In 1995, Carroll graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design.  She has also studied Environmental Science at the University of California, Berkeley.  Her work has been recognized with awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Form4 Architecture believes architecture is the art of giving form to ideas.  The award-winning firm specializes in creating environments, whether for tech offices, mixed-use developments, or residences, that respond as equally to the topography of a site as they do to the people they serve.  Form4 creates formal expressions that are not only poetically moving and conceptually thoughtful, but also reflective of the client’s values and goals.  As collaborative partners in the design process, the principals of Form4 Architecture—Robert J. Giannini, John Marx, AIA, Paul Ferro, AIA, and James Tefend, AIA—are personally involved with every project from concept to completion, bringing the collective wealth of years of expertise and knowledge to each client’s vision.  Since 1999, the firm has built a rich portfolio of award-winning work for national and international clients within diverse market sectors.
