LOS ANGELES: Exemplifying Dan Brunn Architecture’s minimalist aesthetic and dynamic spatial choreography of light and volume, the Bridge House is conceived as a laboratory for contemporary building and living.  The 4,500-square-foot, net-zero energy home literally bridges over a natural stream and demonstrates innovative building systems and eco-friendly design.  The firm has collaborated with numerous nationally recognized product manufacturers to effortlessly present some of today’s cutting-edge home-building products and systems.  Bridge House will act as a venue for social and educational events once completed in January 2019.

Bridge House exists in harmony with the natural environment in Los Angeles’s Hancock Park neighborhood.  The 212-foot-long, 20-foot-wide, single-story, cedar-clad structure mediates a dramatic grade change of 20 feet with a running brook extending below the center of the house.  The home is being built with a modular, CNC-milled steel construction system based on a 5-foot-by-5-foot, post-and-beam grid to expedite on-site assembly, save costs, and offer other ecological benefits.  With its rectilinear shape punctuated with generous glass doors and windows, Bridge House exists within the lineage of California midcentury modernism pioneered by such architectural greats as Pierre Koenig, FAIA, Richard Neutra, FAIA, and Craig Ellwood.

To deliver his noted clean, streamlined, and functional home solutions, Dan Brunn, AIA, carefully selected a roster of leading brands for their state-of-the-art, innovative products.  The Bridge House sponsors include: Aero Shade Company, Aquor Water Systems, AromaTech, Aster Cucine, Atlas Concorde, Baldwin Hardware, Benjamin Moore Paint, BONE Structure, Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, Bosch home appliances, Bosch Security and Safety Systems, Bosch Thermotechnology, Caesarstone, Cantoni, Clopay, Concrete Collaborative, Dornbracht, Duravit, Dwell, Eaton Halo, Eaton Neo-Ray, Eero, Elite Building Materials, EQ3, EZ Concept, Habitat Horticulture, Hearth Product Controls, Hunter Industries, Hydrazzo/Aquavations, Infinity Drain, Lanai Construction, Legrand, LiftMaster, Lynx Grills, Madera, Modaa Construction, Montigo, Mr. Steam, OneButton, Pentair, Porcelanosa, Purificare, Quatreau, Real Cedar, Savant, Segal Shuart Landscape Architects, Signature Hardware, SimpleHuman, Somfy, Stickbulb, SunPower, Tamlyn, Western Window Systems, XtremeInterior, and Yamaha.
